App Features

🌑️

Temperature Guard

+

Auto-pause charging when battery overheats.

Monitors battery temperature in real-time. When temperature exceeds safe threshold, charging pauses automatically and resumes when cooled. Configurable cutoff temperature in Settings.

⚑

Hardware Limiter

+

Works even with phone off or app closed.

Basic Mode: Fixed power threshold cutoff.
Smart Mode: Detects charging completion by power drop percentage (requires PD charger).
Perfect for tablets and always-on devices.

πŸ“ˆ

Power Profiling

+

Learns your device's charging curve.

Records seconds-per-percent and watt-hours for each charge level. Improves scheduler ETA accuracy over time. Default: 140s/percent until learned.

πŸ’‰

Power Injector

+

Inject precise energy amounts.

Set exact watt-hours to inject into battery. Useful when you know battery capacity and current state. Works independently when app disconnected. Set 0 to disable.

πŸ””

Sound Alerts

+

Audio notifications for milestones.

Get notified when: charging starts, limit reached, temperature warning, scheduler activated. Customizable sounds and thresholds.

πŸ”‹

Allowed Charge Drop

+

Prevents charging oscillation.

Set how much battery can drop before recharging (default 3%). Prevents constant on/off cycling near the limit. Configurable per device.

Troubleshooting

App won't find my Chargie deviceβ–Ό

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled
2. Check Chargie is plugged into power
3. Try unplugging and re-plugging Chargie
4. Force close and reopen the app
5. Restart Bluetooth on your device

Charging doesn't stop at my limitβ–Ό

1. Ensure app is running (not force-quit)
2. Check Bluetooth connection is active
3. Enable Hardware Limiter for app-independent protection
4. Verify Chargie firmware is current

Live Activities not showingβ–Ό

1. Requires iOS 16.1 or later
2. Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Enable Live Activities
3. Dynamic Island requires iPhone 14 Pro or newer
4. Must be actively charging with Chargie connected

Scheduler not working correctlyβ–Ό

1. Don't force-quit the app
2. Disable Low Power Mode
3. Let app learn your charging profile first
4. Verify schedule settings are correct

Battery shows wrong percentageβ–Ό

1. iOS reports battery level in 5% increments on iOS 17+
2. This is an iOS limitation, not a Chargie issue
3. The app compensates for this automatically
4. Actual charge control is still precise

Hardware Limiter not activatingβ–Ό

1. Hardware Limiter activates when Bluetooth disconnects
2. Check that Hardware Limiter is enabled in HW Mode tab
3. Set the Cutoff Threshold appropriately
4. Ensure Chargie firmware supports this feature
