Cookie & Consent Policy

This page explains what cookies and similar technologies Chargie uses, why we use them, and how you can give, change or withdraw your consent at any time.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things like what is in your cart, whether you are logged in, and how you found us. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, SDKs) work the same way and are covered by this policy.

Why we ask for your consent

Under the EU ePrivacy rules and the GDPR, we may only store cookies that are not strictly necessary for the website to work after you have given clear, freely given, informed consent. That is why the cookie banner appears on your first visit. Refusing is as easy as accepting: “Reject All” is one click, exactly like “Accept All”, and refusing does not restrict your ability to browse or buy.

The categories we use

  • Necessary — always active. Essential for the site to function: your shopping cart and WooCommerce session, checkout, login state, security, and remembering your cookie choice itself. These do not require consent.
  • Analytics — optional. Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Examples: Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity.
  • Marketing — optional. Used to measure our advertising and to show you relevant ads on other platforms. Examples: Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, TikTok.
  • Functional — optional. Enable extra features such as embedded YouTube videos and Google Maps.

Cookies currently in use

Google Consent Mode

Chargie uses Google Consent Mode. Until you make a choice, analytics and advertising storage are set to denied by default, and Google tags only receive anonymous, cookieless signals. Your selection is applied immediately, without reloading the page.

How long your choice is kept

Your preference is stored in a first-party cookie for up to 180 days. After that, or if you clear your browser data, the banner will ask again. We keep a record of the consent you gave (choice, timestamp and a truncated identifier) so we can demonstrate compliance, as the GDPR requires.

Changing or withdrawing your consent

You can change your mind at any time — withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.

You can also use the small cookie icon in the corner of any page, or delete cookies through your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place while your consent was valid.

Third parties

Optional cookies are set by the providers listed above, who act as independent controllers or as our processors for the data they collect through them. Their own privacy notices explain what they do with it. Blocking a category in our banner prevents those scripts from loading on chargie.org in the first place.

Your rights and contact

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. For anything related to cookies or privacy, contact us at [email protected]. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.
